Ask the Machine: LEO AI Chat Makes Its US Debut at IMTS 2026

How a machine assistant that cites its sources puts answers back at the HMI.

Every shop has the person who knows the machine: the alarm codes, the recovery steps, the page in the manual where the answer lives. LEO AI Chat puts that kind of knowledge at every machine, on every shift. As experienced operators retire and a new generation comes up, LEO carries documented answers forward, so a question asked on second shift gets answered then and there.

It makes its US debut at IMTS 2026 after a strong reception in Europe.

A machine assistant that speaks plainly

LEO AI Chat lives on the HMI and in the mobile app. An operator asks a question the way they would ask a coworker and gets an answer in plain language: how to set a work offset, load a program, recover from an overtravel, what an alarm code means. No manual-searching, no jargon.

Built to be trusted, not just believed

Every answer shows its source. LEO cites the specific manual and page it came from, so an operator can verify the answer in seconds. It is not a general chatbot guessing from a pile of documents.

It knows what it does not know. LEO scores its own confidence on every answer, and when the confidence is not there, it says "I don't know" or asks a clarifying question instead of guessing.

Some questions stay unanswered on purpose. LEO will not help defeat a safety interlock or bypass an access panel switch. The refusals are designed in, not accidental gaps.

Runs where the data can stay

LEO deploys locally on the machine, in a private cloud, or connected to a larger model. The customer chooses where their documentation and data live, and plant data never leaves that boundary. A shop gets the assistant without giving up control of what it knows.

See it running at IMTS 2026

LEO AI Chat will be answering questions live at IMTS 2026, September 14-19 at McCormick Place in Chicago, South Building, Booth #339424. Ask it something. Then talk with the team about what a documented answer at the machine is worth: less time searching, less waiting on an expert, and new operators productive sooner.
