Molding and Imprinting Machine Core Technologies

High-Precision Optical Glass Element Heating/Molding Technology

High-speed, uniform heating via an infrared lamp and high-accuracy mold positioning are achieved. Combined with pressing-force control, heating/cooling temperature control, and high-precision mold-manufacturing technology, these capabilities reduce post-processing, such as polishing, in the production of high-precision glass elements, including aspheric glass lenses.

High-Precision Optical Glass Element Molding Control Technology

The machine is equipped with a proprietary CNC system. Individual process settings for heating, pressing, positioning, and cooling are easy to operate and monitor. This enables high-quality molding with a high level of reproducibility and operator-friendly control.

High-Precision Optical Glass Element Mold-Manufacturing Technology

Based on many years of plastic mold-manufacturing technology for injection molding machines, the strict selection of mold materials optimized for glass molding and the development of coating technology have enabled high-quality, long-life molds.

In addition, the high-precision machining and related application engineering made possible by the Aspheric & Free-form Surface Grinder ULC/ULG series, the division’s leading product, have enabled molded products with high precision and sub-micrometer-scale form accuracy, earning high praise from customers.

Imprinting Machine Film Mold

To support imprinting on warped substrates or substrates with deposition defects, a flexible resin mold is used to enable high form accuracy and reduced variation in the residual resin layer. Film molds can be created using a roll-to-roll imprinting machine.

Imprinting Machine Alignment Function

Positioning errors can be measured by monitoring the alignment marks on the substrate and mold. Alignment is adjusted by shifting the substrate or mold on the XYθ stage. By monitoring the right and left alignment marks, the swivel position can also be aligned with the θ-axis. Dedicated control software can also be used for automatic alignment.

Imprinting Machine Molding Solution

Depending on the type of resin used, three molding methods are available: UV imprinting, which uses UV-curable resin; thermal imprinting, which uses thermosetting or thermoplastic resin; and room-temperature imprinting, which uses pressure-curable resin such as SOG. The ST machine is fully customizable according to the resin used.
