Responsibilities:
Shibaura Machine Company, America has been an Illinois corporation since 1975, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shibaura Machine Co., Ltd., a premier manufacturer of a variety of high-quality industrial machinery including machine tools. The principal responsibility of the Parts Sales Associate is to provide superior customer service to those customers seeking repair parts and components, and associated information, for our machine tools.
Essential Duties:
• Answer incoming customer telephone calls, and other modes of inquiry, from customers in North America regarding machine tool parts
• Identify parts and promptly provide price and availability quotations
• Receive, process, and invoice customer parts orders
• Acquire parts from external vendors as required to satisfy customer backorders
• Monitor vendor deliveries to ensure orders and inquiries are processed in a timely and accurate fashion
• Maintain and update customer and vendor information, and the related files, as required
• Consistently monitor estimated delivery times and communicate any changes to our customers
• Ensure that the Parts Manager is kept informed in real time on any significant activities and developments
• Support and coordinate with the SMA Service department for parts orders, and any related inquiries
• Any other duties and tasks, consistent with your abilities, which may be assigned
Minimum Requirements:
• Two (2) years of college or the equivalent experience
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both oral and written, and proven ability in developing and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships
• Fully competent with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office
• Highly organized with the ability to work independently and unsupervised
Preferred Qualifications:
• Multi-lingual capability, written and oral, English / Spanish / Japanese
• Two (2) years of experience reading and understanding mechanical and electrical drawings
• Experience in sourcing materials and with vendor relationships
• Experience with, and knowledge of, machine tools and related equipment
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP/CRM integrated software systems to manage operations
